Position Overview:
Oversees cultivation and stewardship engagement strategies for major donors and corporate donors, including events and communications. Coordinates the annual Preview Party. Responsible for a new PHS travel program for individual donors. Serves as point person for bespoke events, meetings, and other requests for major donors, corporate donors, and institutional funders.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop an annual engagement calendar that outlines all of the major events and stewardship touchpoints for 1827 Society members, individual major gift donors, Corporate donors, and institutional funders.
- Oversee the execution of events outlined in the annual engagement calendar, including conception, planning, marketing, and day of execution, working in close collaboration with colleagues in Development, the Shows and Events team, the Marketing team, and other stakeholders.
- In collaboration with the Individual Giving team, develop and implement an events strategy that attracts, grows, and retains high-value individual donors.
- Oversee the launch of a new travel program in coordination with an external tour operator and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee the production of the Preview Party gala, working closely with Development team, Shows and Events team, Marketing team, and external consultants.
- Work closely with the business development team to create new experiences for corporate funders to grow corporate members and increase retention.
- Work closely with the Individual Giving team to define stewardship communication needs for individual major donors, including Impact and endowment reports, ensuring they are created and distributed.
- Creatively respond to high-value donor opportunities as they present themselves.
- Identify and implement ways to use data-driven metrics to analyze engagement performance.
- Collaborate with Development Coordinator, who spends 50% of time on events strategy, primarily targeting the general membership base.
Qualifications/Specification:
- Minimum degree required: Bachelor Degree
- Years of experience: 5 or more years of experience with event planning and management, preferably with demonstrated experience interfacing directly with major donors
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Driver’s License: Yes
- Knowledges, Skills, Abilities required for success:
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to prioritize key initiatives and work on multiple projects concurrently while delivering against deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Mailchimp, and Raisers Edge software
