Job Summary\: Distinguishing responsibilities for the position of Special Education - RTF Case Manager are completing IEP revisions for assigned Residential Treatment Facility (RTFs) students. Therefore, this employee must have excellent Technical Skills needed to obtain and revise special education documents, local knowledge of facilities and resources to implement revised IEPs, expertise in legal requirements, and a knowledge base needed to manage related circumstances of RTF students (old documents, out of compliance documents, missing paperwork, multiple placements, no records, legal/physical custody unclear, etc.).
This position will also provide academic, community and social instruction to support the educational programming and physical needs of special education students assigned to the Intermediate Unit programs. Plan curriculum, prepare lessons and other instructional materials to meet the needs of the students, including in-home and virtual instruction. All instruction should be aligned with the state standards.

Supervisory Responsibility: Serves as team leader for all IEP team members, ensuring all legal mandates are met and IEPs are implemented. As the lead communicator, the Teacher will ensure all other service providers and team members, including the parent, are updated and informed of student progress and needs.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands. The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, 193-day calendar position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Hours are dependent on the needs of the districts. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel\: Some travel may be required for out of school meetings. Travel may be required to the student’s home.
Education and Experience\:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- PA K-12 Special Education Certification
- Ability to communicate effectively across a variety of team members, including parents, and across a variety of mediums including oral, written and virtual.
- Proficiency with in-home and online delivery of education and instructional materials.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable): Citizenship or work authorization to work in the United States required.
