Medical Laboratory Technician

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

NOC shift (21:00 – 07:30), 3 × 8 hr shifts per week, totaling 24 hrs/week.

Job Description

The Medical Laboratory Technician performs a wide variety of laboratory procedures using both manual and automated methods. This role requires a considerable degree of independent judgment regarding the performance and reporting of results, with active participation in the quality improvement activities of the laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory procedures with accuracy and precision.
• Report results independently and apply judgment in result interpretation.
• Participate in quality improvement activities within the laboratory.

Required Experience

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a relevant laboratory section.

Required Education

An Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or Life Sciences with at least 26 science credits, or relevant military training as a Medical Laboratory Specialist.
