JOB DUTIES

  • Support the College's efforts to maintain a coalition of industry partners, academic institutions, research institutes, state and government agencies, community agencies, and special interest groups centered around bio manufacturing and cleanroom processing and applications.
  • Partner and coordinate with industry and educational stakeholders to deliver high-quality instruction in Cleanroom Technology, Biotechnology, and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). This effort aims to meet local workforce demands, enhance jobseekers' employability, and establish a seamless talent pipeline from high school to employment.
  • In collaboration with Workforce Training leadership, convene meetings with industry stakeholders, and facilitate communication to identify common employment needs and skill gaps.
  • Facilitate fund raising for the Coalition by working closely with industry partners, NJCCC, and MCCC Foundation.
  • Maintain New Jersey’s Aseptic Processing and Biotechnology ecosystem and represent MCCC as part of this dynamic initiative.
  •  Implement high quality programs aligned with identified industry needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Oversee the implementation of curricula in the areas of aseptic manufacturing and biotechnology for online and in person delivery.
  • Responsible for activities in the Cleanroom and Biotechnology Training facilities, including: working with facilitators, ordering and maintaining an inventory of supplies, equipment, and learning resources
  • Act as a liaison with Middlesex College and Raritan Valley Community College to maintain a collaborative educational environment with shared resources.
  •  Assist in the development of non-credit to credit pathways with the academic Deans.
  • Ensure that learning activities are conducted safely and according to industry standards.
  • Work with instructional staff to ensure that all students have a clear understanding of the program requirements and that graduates have met all competencies according to industry standards.
  • Equip, manage, and maintain a Cleanroom and Biotechnology Mobile Lab while ensuring adherence to OSHA and ISO safety regulations.
  • Attend department and industry meetings and recruitment events.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is contingent upon grant funds through June 2028. 

ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS 
Positions in this class typically require: ability to use a key board, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Sedentary Work:  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. 
Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology or related field required from an accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years’ of experience working in a cleanroom environment.
  • Two to three (2 – 3) years of experience working as a project manager. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Master’s Degree in a related field from an accredited institution. 
  • Prior work experience in higher education

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Strong understanding of, or experience with, aseptic manufacturing of cellular products.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills utilizing software such as Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to solve problems and work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. 
  • Understanding of and commitment to the College's mission of service to the community.
  • Familiarity with developing industry partnerships and collaborations.
