WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

 

The Project Architect is responsible for leading and executing the development of all technical aspects and content for complex medium to large or multiple projects. Working alongside other team members including staff architects and designers, as well as our in-house and external engineering disciplines and consultants, the Senior Project Architect ensures technical and design excellence and quality deliverables during design and documentation, through construction administration.

 

Responsibilities of the Role:


  • As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you must be a collaborative and effective communicator who thrives in a team environment. Strong interpersonal skills are required to collaborate with both internal and client-facing teams.

  • Develops ideas from conceptual design through construction documentation and ensures proper coordination and design input with the other disciplines on the team.

  • Leads the integration and development of all technical aspects of architectural documentation on a project.

  • Generates building code, life safety analyses, and architectural project specifications with minimal oversight.

  • Collaborates with Project Manager and Architectural Leadership to ensure manpower and staffing needs on assigned projects are met.

  • Ownership of and alignment with the architectural budget, scope, schedule, and required deliverables on assigned projects.

  • Attend and participate in client presentations and project meetings when required.

  • Mentors, motivates, and inspires other architectural staff and assists in their professional development.

  • Build and develop client, business, and industry relationships, including identifying and leading pursuits of new opportunities.

  • Grow client base through the delivery of excellent services.


 

Education, Qualifications and Work Experience


  • Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture from an accredited program, or degree in a related field. 

  • Completion of Professional Licensure is strongly preferred.

  • At least 5 years of related experience is required. Experience with projects in the Life Sciences industry and having served as the Project Architect on those projects is strongly preferred.

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering small- to medium-sized architectural projects from concept to completion.

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of building codes, construction materials, and industry best practices.

  • Technical proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office software. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred, but not required.

  • Excellent communication skills – including speaking, writing, and graphic communication - are a must. This includes being able to speak confidently and concisely.

  • Ability to work independently and/or manage an architectural support team when necessary, including delegating tasks.

  • Flexibility to travel (occasionally to moderate, depending on project location).

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work on more than one project at a time.
