The New Jersey Innocence Project at Rutgers University (“NJIP”) seeks the release and exoneration of wrongfully convicted people. NJIP investigates claims of innocence, provides post-conviction legal representation to wrongfully convicted people, and advocates for systemic reform. NJIP seeks a Part-time Staff Attorney to play a vital role in NJIP’s mission to exonerate wrongfully convicted individuals. This position will be responsible for a range of legal activities including investigating, litigating, and advocating for clients with cases of wrongful convictions. In addition, the part-time staff attorney will provide training and ongoing supervision for pro bono attorneys, law students, and undergraduate volunteers. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those who have been unjustly incarcerated. The Staff Attorney will be a Rutgers University employee housed at the Rutgers Law School in Camden and will report to NJIP’s managing attorney. This position works closely with clinical faculty, administrative staff, students, and volunteers. This position is based in Camden, New Jersey and requires travel across New Jersey.
