Responsibilities & Duties

Ensure Daily Facility Operations

  • Open and secure the building as needed, including performing building walkthroughs to check for safety, cleanliness, and readiness.
  • Monitor HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing, and other building systems to ensure they are operating properly.
  • Complete routine repairs, minor installations, and maintenance tasks in a timely and professional manner.

Maintain a Safe and Clean Learning Environment

  • Respond to urgent facility-related needs, including spills, weather-related issues, or damage to property.
  • Support compliance with health and safety codes, fire safety, and security procedures.
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down spaces for school events or programs.

Collaborate and Communicate

  • Work closely with the Director of Operations to identify maintenance priorities and schedule preventive upkeep.
  • Communicate effectively with school staff and leadership about building concerns, solutions, and timelines.
  • Maintain accurate logs of maintenance and repair work performed.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist custodial staff or vendors as needed.
  • Participate in school safety drills and emergency response support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the school's mission.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in building maintenance, engineering, or a facilities-related role preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry systems strongly preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work with tools and equipment.
  • Strong commitment to punctuality, problem-solving, and contributing to a safe and supportive school environment.
