Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, a leading global law firm with offices in major commercial, legal, and governmental hubs worldwide, is seeking a Knowledge Solutions Developer and Platform Engineer to join its Knowledge Solutions team.

The Knowledge Solutions Developer and Platform Engineer will design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure and DevOps pipelines that support web applications, microservices, and Generative AI products. They will play a critical role in enabling smooth deployment and operation of production-grade systems including ReactJS front ends, microservices, and GenAI workloads. In addition, this role requires assistance with the development and support of applications built upon the firm’s internal facing Microsoft software stack.

This position will reside in our Philadelphia office with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and manage infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.

  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for both frontend and backend services.

  • Deploy and maintain microservices, front-end applications (e.g., ReactJS), and GenAI services on Azure Cloud.

  • Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of cloud environments and deployed applications.

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize infrastructure and containerized services using Docker.

  • Manage logging, alerting, and observability systems for deployed applications and APIs.

  • Work closely with engineering teams to automate testing, release management, and environment provisioning.

  • Ensure security and compliance best practices are followed in cloud and deployment workflows.

  • Develop SPFx (SharePoint Framework) web parts using React, PnP and Fluent UI libraries.

  • Integrate applications and processes with Azure App Insights and create workbooks for visualizing trends.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to builds and deployments.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for security and reliability.

  • Ensure code quality and security standards are enforced within Azure Repos.

  • Translate design mockups from Figma into optimized code that integrates with and does not conflict with the existing codebase.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and a minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Terraform for IaC (Infrastructure as Code) and DevOps tools and processes, particularly Azure DevOps (build, release, pipelines, repos, artifacts).

  • Familiarity with deploying microservices and ReactJS-based front-end applications into Azure.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

  • Strong scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, or equivalent for automation tasks.

  • Good understanding of networking, load balancing, and cloud security concepts.

  • Experience with Kubernetes (especially AKS) and monitoring/logging tools like Azure Monitor, Grafana, Prometheus, or Applications Insights.

  • Understanding of GenAI MLOps practices (e.g. model versioning, prompt testing, fine-tuning workflows).

  • Experience with performance/load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6).

  • Project management and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven ability to deploy and manage services in Microsoft Azure, including App Services, Container Apps, AKS, and other key services.

  • Solid experience with Docker, including containerizing applications and managing container lifecycles.

  • Experience deploying and supporting Generative AI applications (e.g., LLMs, RAG pipelines) in a cloud environment.

  • Exposure to GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or other CI/CD tools.

  • Experience working with Python-based backends (e.g. Flask, FastAPI) and integrating with AI services.

  • Knowledge of serverless architecture in Azure (Azure Functions, Logic Apps).

  • Familiarity with secrets management tools like Azure Key Vault, HashiCorp Vault, or AWS Secrets Manager.
