The Electrical Engineer will design and analyze safety and non-safety related electrical systems for Small Modular Reactor (SMR), regularly interfacing with the information and communication, systems, mechanical, and nuclear engineering teams for electrical design and consultation.
Responsibilities:
Ensure design compliance with international regulatory criteria and industry best practices;
Develop system function and design requirement specifications, one-line and three-line diagrams, licensing requirements for electrical systems, as well as component specifications for individual system components such as batteries, transformers, breakers, switchgear, and relaying;
Interact with vendors to obtain vendor input and design confirmation of various components;
Perform and support vendor selection and vetting process;
Work with other work groups to provide electrical design support; and
Provide technical oversight for electrical work performed by others.
Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field of engineering;
2 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer or a related occupation;
Experience designing electrical distribution structures;
Experience creating deliverables, drawings, construction list, and bill of materials in support of design and construction projects;
Experience performing calculations and analysis of electrical system designs;
Experience creating or implementing system requirements into a system design; and
Experience using: CAD and electrical modeling software to create system designs from scratch.
