Position Responsibilities:

- Overall Responsibility of Recruitment, selection, training, orienting, and supervising the Nursing and Nursing Support Staff.

- Review, monitor adherence to, and modify policies as needed to conform to Pennsylvania DPW Regulations

- Prepare for and participate in Joint Commission accreditation activities.

- Manage departmental and operational budget.

- Act as liaison between pharmaceutical laboratory and other medical services and products vendors for the facility.

- Act as liaison and collaborator between Nursing and other Renfrew clinical departments

- Become an ambassador for Renfrew to the public and outside professionals

- Oversee Infection Control, Medication Management and nursing practice

- Assist in strategic planning for the organization when requested

- Work closely within the Renfrew Continuum to assist in the medical-nursing evaluation of patients at the NR sites.

- Work closely with Environment of Care Personnel to ensure a safe and secure environment for its patients and staff.

- The DON is responsible for providing hands on Nursing support as needed.

Education,, Competencies, and Credentials:-

- RN and BSN or BS/BA required; MSN or MS preferred.

- Minimum 5 years’ nursing experience in an inpatient setting.

- Minimum 4 years as a Nurse Manager/Assistant Director of Nursing/Director of Nursing

- Behavioral Health background preferred.

- Valid RN licensure for the state of Pennsylvania.
