CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER POSITION

Holtec International is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee the construction of Spend Fuel Storage Systems at various Nuclear Power Plants across the United States.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

The Construction Project Manager reports to the Construction Program Manager and the Director of Construction.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage the construction workflow process

 

  • Actively engage the Holtec Construction Team, the client and all contractors

 

  • Oversee all construction activities at the project work site

 

  • Assist Holtec Corporate Project Manager with task completion and purchase order management

 

  • Clarify scope of work, and prepare cost estimates and proposals when necessary

 

  • Evaluate project for constructability and value-engineer cost savings

 

  • Establish, monitor, communicate and maintain project schedules utilizing contemporary scheduling software

 

  • Negotiate contracts, subcontracts and purchase orders to assure that all project goals are being addressed

 

  • Proactively identify issues that could lead to problems and facilitate solutions

 

  • Determine and implement the appropriate level of project control (i.e.: submittal logs, change order logs, etc.)

 

  • Manage project costs to ensure budgets are maintained. Document and manage changes in the work to ensure the interests of all stakeholders in the project are reasonably met

 

  • Document activity conclusion; manage the project closeout process to ensure timely completion

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred

 

  • 10+ years’ experience in the construction industry with a commercial and/or industrial general contractor engaged in general building construction

 

  • Demonstrated experience estimating and managing self-performed work activities and subcontracted work

 

  • Strong written/verbal communication skills

 

  • A working knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical and electrical work

 

  • High level of proficiency with spreadsheets, Email and other software used in the construction industry

 

  • Current safety credentials to include OSHA 30, 1st Aid and CPR

 

  • Nuclear Power Plant experience preferred but not required
